Life's Little Rewards

Our family doesn't drink much pop and it isn't usually name brand. However, my step-father, mom, and little brother (okay, he's 6'2" but he's 15 years younger than me) drink a lot of Coke. My step-dad used to collect Coke memorabilia but has accumulated all he wants at this point. So they give their My Coke Rewards points to us. I like getting things for free (and since it isn't my money buying the Coke, it really is free =)

I just ordered a Proctor Silex 10-Cup Rice Cooker (I am hit or miss with rice and having one of these is supposed to solve that, at least that's what I hear) and will have it in 4-6 weeks. We've also received 3 Coca-Cola insulated lunch bags (in August) and before that I got a Coca-Cola Sling back pack (about a year ago). I'm not a big Coke fan (except Cherry Coke) but I do like red, black, and white together. Now I'm off to see about a gift card at My Points (another great freebie website).

A Journey

I have some friends who are finding their way in regards to what they believe. I am on the same journey myself. About a year ago I heard a message preached by Paul Washer (Shocking Youth Message) and it so completely confirmed my thoughts on what I read in the Bible. I must strive to compare my walk with Scripture, not what I feel or others think. Here is a video compilation of one of Paul Washer's sermons (Examine Yourself ).

If you want to listen to more of his sermons then go here.

A lot of discussion has mentioned the term "Churchianity" so I did a Google search and found this wonderful article. What a great description of the True Church, the Bride of Christ!

However, I don't think it is wrong to be a part of a body of local believers who gather together to fellowship and worship together. I also fellowship with a body of believers online. I worship with my family and on my own.

I don't have it all figured out, I'm continuing to learn and grow. This is why I like unschooling so much. Christian Unschooling is about helping/letting my kids find their walk with God, as well as finding my own. He created us all with a purpose - To have Life in Him.

Here is a video of the true Gospel, not the watered down version that is so prevalent today.

Kids are a Blessing

Imagine my delight to wake up this morning to find Kyle bringing me coffee. Noelle got in on the action and they then served me breakfast in bed. I am a very lucky mom indeed!

Groundhog Day

Last night we watched the movie Groundhog Day in preparation for today's proclamation...

Yep, you guessed it...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Phil Says "Six More Weeks of Winter!"
Phil's official forecast as read February 2nd, 2009 at sunrise at Gobbler's Knob:
Hear Ye Hear Ye
On Gobbler's Knob this glorious Groundhog Day, February 2nd, 2009
Punxsutawney Phil, Seer of Seers, Prognosticator of all Prognosticators
Awoke to the call of President Bill Cooper
And greeted his handlers, Ben Hughes and John Griffiths
After casting a joyful eye towards thousands of his faithful followers,
Phil proclaimed that his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers were World Champions one more time
And a bright sky above me
Showed my shadow beside me.
So 6 more weeks of winter it will be.
